additional stats from equipment will not increase the potential you can get from the skill "create equipment"
equipment with dex stats however, increases your difficulty but still no increase in potential.

create mage with full int, take wall to 10, go to gobs till you got lv 25, go to shellmask and collect bnut and nisel, take quest bnut and nisel, do this till you reach lv 50, go to zoktzada ruin and kill skell with your wall until you got lv 60. Back to shellmask and collect the quest item again untill you can kill shellmask one hit kill or until you reach 70 and take strom skill. And then, create your own Blacksmith. Level it up to 25, and take bnut quest and nisel.
    or,
    buy nisel wood and bnut

You can add minus status wich increase potential a bit. Like mp -x% or such.
And you can gambling to add more stat which decrease success rate in adding status, thats why building 2 kind blacksmith being recommended right now
But still... lack of potential. Probably next update

This is an excelent guide!! Now i know what to do with bs character.
But i still i don't understand about one thing. The skill tree.
Say, i'd like to create an armor bs. The guide said that i should pick either knuckle or magic skill tree. What does this mean? Should i put my skill points on these skill too, aside from smithing skill?

It's just his personal preference on how he blacksmiths. You just have the knuckles skill tree but only put points into blacksmithing and blacksmithing only.

I've used 50 tech and pure int for staff bs at level 70 and used to be quite successful. Then I went back to low Tech.. And although the pot was much better, the success rate was quite poor. Good guide though ^^

You know everyone trying to be the best and stuff but once you cap out your main stat, you're going to have to put points into a new stat. I honestly don't care for equips atm. More worried on trying to still have fun in the game without getting burnt

I like ur guide but im planning to make vit bs,should this be ok? 196vit 10tech since my max stat is 206. Then equip myself with +vit gears or +dex gears?thanks.

You get them by processing items. Here's a example
You farm bitter nut and you feel like turning them into mat points. What you would do is use a skill or go to either black smith or synthesist to process them. The type of mat the item is would be shown at the bottom of its status.

    So far there are
    Mana
    Metal
    Wood
    Beast
    Cloth
    Medicine

Bitter nuts would be in the medicine mat pts.
Places to farm wood are shell masks at Nisel moutain, Kijimu at Athema ruins, or Pova ( forgot there location.)
Place to farm metal would be skeletons at the Zokd Ruins ( close enough ) 2 types of mobs in new moon palace. ( will edit it once I find the name of them)
The mats which they represent is also shown once a item is dropped

    Wood: log of wood
    Cloth: cloth
    Metal: a bar of metal
    Mana: a purple orb
    Beast: claw
Medicine: can be leaf like items or ones in potions

sorry for late reply, i've been out of the game for quite some time now, though i can still give you an answer.
i recommended to equip items with dex stats + dex crystals - this is to increase your difficulty level, so you wont need to put so many points in tech; and you don't need to equip items with vit stats, because this wont give you any additional potential. potential is purely based on the characters stats and the careful creation skill.
